Some Recent Advances for Practical Finite Element Analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
AbstrPct--This paper illustrates some recent advances in finite element procedures that are important for practical engineering analysis. Capabilities to solve large hnite element systems using iterative methods, and some significant advances in finite element procedures for the nonlinear analysis of structures and fluids are demonstrated. The emphasis is on presenting solution results that demonstrate the applicability of finite element procedures rather than on theoretical developments (which are available in references).

A Review on the Applications of Finite Element Method to Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow
Practical engineering problems in heat transfer and fluid flow involve one or more governing equations, together with some boundary conditions over a domain. The domain is often complex and non-uniform. The ability to use a mesh of finite elements to accurately discretise domain of any size and shape makes the finite element method a powerful tool to numerically analyse problems in these areas....
متن کاملA Theoretical and Practical Study of Cracking of an Aluminium Alloy During Side Pressing Using a Finite - Element Analysis
Elastic-plastic finite-element analysis applied to metalforming allows the real macroscopic properties of the workpiece to be incorporated. This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the initiation of cracking in side-pressing of a heat-treated aluminium alloy (Duralloy 2014). Using an F. E. analysis, these are related to various fracture criteria. It is found that the criterio...
متن کاملDetermination of Buckling Limit of Strain in Cold Roll Forming through Finite Element Analysis
In this study, Buckling Limit of Strain (B.L.S.) is introduced as one of the most important limiting factors in cold roll forming process. B.L.S. is calculated by the finite element procedure. Then for two particular processes with existing analysis and experimental results, B.L.S. has been determined and evaluated. LUSAS 12.3 is used for finite element analysis. The results show that when buck...
متن کاملCrack Analysis, Using a New Coupled FE-EFG Method
To solve crack problems, some coupled methods have been developed in recent years. Most of these methods have some shortcomings such as the need for a transition region. The finite element and enriched element free Galerkin methods are widely used for this class of problems. In order to take the advantages of these methods while avoiding the disadvantages, it is essential to follow solution app...
